History

Let's tell you a Story...

Carlo Lo Conte is a man with great business skills, who was able to develop successfully the tradition of its small family dairy, bringing it on the top of the dairy production sector.

In 1916 his paternal grandparents set up at the property of the duchess Caracciolo in Ariano Irpino a small laboratory for the transformation process of milk to produce Caciocavallo and Mozzarella and for the handcrafted production of honey.

Then Carlo Lo Conte emigrated to USA as a researcher and although he got a lot of success, he never forgot his origins, the colour and the smell of his lands in Irpinia.

After working many years in a dairy that produced Mozzarella and cheeses for the Italo-american people, he came back to his well-beloved Ariano.
The laboratory of his grandparents went on until Carlo Lo Conte with the help of his brother Giovanni, relying upon their excellent business intuition, turned the laboratory into a real industrial activity for dairy products.

Because of the World War II and the tragic death of his brother, Carlo Lo Conte had to face many problems in the development of his activity.
The love for his work and the gained experience made him famous not only in his surroundings, but also across the nation and abroad.

The year 1970 was a very important year for Superlatticini Lo Conte  because the company borne fruit of its research efforts with the startup of of  the “CaciocchiatoLoConte's” production.

It doesn't even have the shape of a provolone but it was born from the imagination of a man who believed in the myth of the USA, thus CaciocchiatoLoConteis in the shape of an American watermelon, that is a typical product of Charleston.

Carlo Lo Conte was able to export his product also to the USA working with some teachers of the California Polytechnic State University  in San Luis Obispo and teachers of the University of California in Davis, testing the production of "CaciocchiatoLoConte Great Taste" in their university laboratories.
CaciocchiatoLoConteis unique all over the world because it is surprisingly mellow structured, it is rich in flavor and it has a distinctive fine aroma.

Today Superlatticini Lo Conte is still family-owned, run by Johnny Lo Conte with the same passion and skills of his father Carlo. Johnny and his staff guarantee the highst quality for their customers through a wise processing of milk 100% High Quality, supplied only by local farms.

Superlatticini Lo Conte products are well-known abroad too. Its products are present in many European markets, reached by a widespread distribution network. The local market is supplied  by own private vehicles with refrigerated rooms.
